In short, I'm a food-geek, a run-nerd, and a cat-dork.
Food-Geek
The title of this blog is Foodalyst. It's what you get when you cross a geek and a foodie, besides the beginning of a cheesy joke. I love many things food-wise, but nothing more than tomatoes and cheese. My goal is to eat great, while considering factors such as affordability, sustainability, and healthiness. This blog is also about balance, as I live in the real world too. So, just know, that sometimes I eat foot long hot dogs at the state fair (which are not affordable, sustainable or healthy) and that's okay too. I like trying and coming up with new recipes and make a point to share them if I find something worthwhile, usually with a bit of an analytical slant to it.
Run-Nerd
A couple years ago, a friend challenged me to run a 5K, and two weeks later I did. I wasn't the fastest and still am not, but I do really like running. I've also learned a lot about running and myself through the process. Later, in October 2011 - I ran my first marathon. I'm now working on other endurance sports too, and training for a Triathlon. In general, I consider myself a much more athletic person these days than I ever thought possible.
Cat-Dork
Oh, I won't say too much but owning three cats at this young age pretty much means I'm a cat lady in the making. Cats really are truly hysterical and fun though as I'm sure you've already discovered by spending any amount of time on the internet. Thankfully, I don't blog about them too much, but I can't say the same for my twitter feed. (@rubyleigh)
